Google removes ban on this domain…!!

Hi all,

Firstly some history over this URL. I am a compulsive collector. Someone who hoards practically everything including books, games, videos, tv episodes.. and definitely links to anything design related.

I went through my Gmail account that I have for my other site (http://www.newbtech.com) and discovered over 6000 of them. Yes.. 6000 links to pages that I kept just in case I need something in the future!

Searching through them has become more and more painful if not impossible. As a result I started looking for other means to allow me to categorize and collect pointers to articles that I deem collectable.

I purchased this domain name recently and put in a temporary theme to start playing with this. I have a LOT of excerpts ready to post – until i found that Google has blacklisted this domain

Now, even though this site is for me, it feels “dirty” to use a blacklisted domain name and I almost gave up.

I went through its history and saw it was the subject of many mailing lists and splogs etc.. which was bad..

I also went through an appraisal of the url via: http://www.urlappraisal.net/ and discovered the following:

Yes.. $19k appraisal. URL over 10 years old… Kinda made me want to get it unbanned. Simply so that it can be worth something later.

I put in a reconsideration to Google using their webmasters site and finally got a message saying that they have reconsidered the site. And I can finally see googlebot crawling over the site!!

Yay! I can finally start working on the site proper now!!
